Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 from February 27, 2010 to Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town which is situated in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. People unfamiliar with the term tend to think it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to everything from Lachine west to the town of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay there was short. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. Her first ambition was to dance but the growth rate of her body meant she literally outgrew her dance partners. In a report by Toronto Star, she revealed that she was six feet and one inch tall. After I reached the point of outgrowing male dance partners, I stopped. In Brugel's case, it was the guidance of one of her drama teachers from high school, which prompted her to start acting. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the school's annual production. She tried out and ended up playing the lead in Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 shows with big screen and smaller ones. She received the greatest fame when she was offered the role as Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast during Season 1 of the series, and only seen occasionally.
